Never Lie To Yourself
It's obvious that you could lie to anyone, and you could even do it well, but could you lie to yourself?
The answer is, absolutely yes, and that is what most people do, and that is what makes them fail many of the times.
While honesty could guide you, lies would mislead you, because you stood on a paper ground that you thought was solid.
That is why Fyodor Dostoevsky said:
I couldn't agree more with this quote to be honest, as really a man could lie to himself then have no ability to distinguish lies and truth, and the worst thing about it is that you won't know where you stand.
I'll tell you smth personal that happened to me,4 years ago,I took the Digital Marketing course from Google's Digital Garage, and this course was so comprehensive it was 40 hours long.
After I finished this course I convinced myself that I became a professional and that I'm more than good to go, but when I had to officially make a full marketing campaign, I knew that I misled myself by myself, and I need to get back and learn from the beginning, and that is what I exactly did.
If you're used to misleading yourself, you won't ever know where you really stand, and if you don't know where you stand, you won't know what it would take you to go where you want.
So, please don't ever lie to yourself, always be honest to yourself and know how to be on good terms with yourself even if you felt guilty or ashamed, it's easier to heal when you know your medical condition ;)
