What are some arbitrary rules that you made up for yourself that has held you back in life?
The one thing that held me back for years without me even realizing, that I was trying to make a corrupted deal with life, that:
1- I'll better manage my finance when I have more money.
2- I'll stop smoking when I get back to sports.
3- I'll quit drugs when my life has more entertaining and valuable activities.
THIS WAS TOTALLY WRONG FOR SO MANY REASONS, BECAUSE:
1- You won't have more money unless you better manage your personal finance; even if your income multiplied, you'd lose your money to bad spending habits.
2- If you didn't stop smoking, you wouldn't be motivated to get back to a healthy lifestyle, and it probably won't work out for you; plus that giving up smoking will be more beneficial to your health than running and smoking.
3- If you didn't quit drugs, you wouldn't ever have these entertaining and valuable activities because drugs will absorb all your time, effort, and money.
A general principle is never to wait for anything to happen without your contribution, nor expect rewards from life without putting inadequate effort, time, and money.
